Annotated Bibliography Introductory Workshop

Introduction:

Below you will find several sources about a particular topic.  Your group will not know what the topic is that unites these sources.  It will be your goal during this class period to investigate these sources, deduce a common theme, and to write an evaluative annotated bibliography based on them.

Sources:

First book
Second book
Scholarly article
YouTube video

Instructions:
  1. Create bibliographic entries for each source in MLA format.
  2. You will (obviously) not be able to read these two books and an article during class!  Devise a way to access the sources' contents in the time that you have.  Schedule your time.
  3. Write summaries for each source.  You'll want different group members to write each summary, and might want to assign multiple members to some of the sources.
  4. Devise a unifying theme for the bibliography's sources.
  5. Draft a statement of scope for the bibliography.
  6. Add evaluative sections to your bibliography's annotations.
  7. Review your bibliography and email a single copy of it to your instructor.
